Raising money through online shopping

Quite often you won't see your supporters from one game to the next. If you're a junior club and you rely on parents / families / team mates to bring money into the club bar then, more often than not, the bar will only need to be manned on match days - everyone's just far too busy...

By encouraging your fans to use our website you could be generating funds for your club "24/7" - the close season, evenings in front of the TV (and laptop), essentially any time of the day or night, not just on a match day...

How it Works...

We use a form of advertising called Affiliate Marketing to link to a number of retailers who sell all sorts of stuff online - from sports equipment to mobile phones to home furnishings to holidays. They all provide commissions to websites for promoting their goods and services, so by visiting their sites and buying online by clicking on a 4theteam link first, rather than going direct, a healthy percentage of that commission comes back into Sport (and your club in particular) at the grassroots level.

All you need to do is register with your club details. We'll provide you with a template page including sites your fans might want to visit but you can also let us know if you've got any ideas and we'll incorporate these into the design of your own personal web page, where your fans can come on their way to their online shopping experience. Perhaps you'll also want to include match reports or club notices onto this page, or links to your own website - it's up to you...

Tracking your fans' activity

Once they've made their purchases online, you'll get a regular statement of how many visitors bought items from which retailers and therefore how much commission is due to you. Exactly when you get paid is determined by the retailers themselves and the affiliate networks that we link to them through - they generally pay out monthly or quarterly and as they pass on their commissions to us we'll work out what you're owed and pass it on to you. It's as simple as that!

We'll update you regularly on new retailers that we can link to and we'd also encourage you and your fans to contact us if you'd like to link to someone we haven't thought of - if we can do then we will!

Encourage return visits

The more fans visit your web page on 4theteam.net then the more money you're likely to raise for your club. You can help to promote this service by linking to us via your own website and newsletters and we can also give you stats on how many people have visited your personal web page on 4theteam.net. If you want to discuss linking to chosen advertisers direct on your own website then let us know and we can help you there too! What's also nice is that with more and more people catching on to online shopping this is a great opportunity to put money into grassroots sport without it costing your fans a penny!

So where's the catch?

That's the best bit - there is none! We'll discuss commissions in more detail when you contact us, but your club will generally benefit from a minimum of 2 or 3% from every purchase - often much more.

More good news!

As well as contributing directly to your own club, you can also do your bit by getting other clubs on board. It doesn't matter what sport they play, if we accept them as clients then your team will also benefit from a proportion of commissions from their sales, so there's even more to be made! Simply get them to tell us you sent them along and we'll do the rest.

It's easy to get started!

Register now to let us know some details about you and your club that we can verify with a third party to make sure that you are genuine (you can't be too careful these days!). We'll then get back to you and look to set up your home page within a day or two, so that you can include us in newsletters and other communications with your supporters.
